    Penthouse Spa with Danube View – Wellness above the Rooftops of Dürnstein

    Wellness above the rooftops

    When we planned our Penthouse Spa, one question was decisive: where do people most enjoy spending time when seeking relaxation? The answer was clear – where the view opens up. That is why our entire wellness area is on the roof, with panoramic views over the vineyards, the Danube and across to the ruins of Dürnstein.

    A pool that merges inside and out

    The heart of the spa is the heated pool, which flows seamlessly from indoors to an outdoor area. In summer a refreshing dip, in winter a warm island above the valley – the pool is kept at 30 °C all year round.

    Three saunas for every taste

    Finnish sauna with panorama window: 90 °C, classic Finnish, with infusions on schedule and on request.

    Bio sauna: 60 °C, gentler and with essential herbs – ideal when classic heat feels too intense.

    Steam bath with herbal essences: humid warmth, good for respiratory tract and skin.

    Spaces to arrive

    The finest hours in the spa often happen not in the sauna, but afterwards – in the relaxation room with open fireplace, on a lounger in the conservatory or outside on the sun terrace. We provide tea, water and fruit.

    Massages and treatments

    Our spa team will pamper you with classic full and partial body massages, aroma treatments and applications with regional products – for example with apricot kernel oil from the Wachau. Booking is best made before arrival, as the programme is popular and limited.

    Opening hours and good to know

    • Pool: daily 7:30 am – 9:30 pm
    • Saunas: daily 2:00 pm – 9:00 pm
    • Hotel guests included in the room rate
    • Day spa guests welcome by appointment – see SPA Special
    • Bathrobe and slippers in your room, towel available at the spa

    A day you will remember

    Our recommendation for your first day: swim in the morning, leisurely breakfast on the terrace, a walk through Dürnstein, a massage in the afternoon, then sauna with sunset over the Danube. Evening at the Himmelsstiege restaurant. A day that lingers long.
