Dürnstein Castle Ruins
The Dürnstein Castle Ruins tower high above the village of the same name in the Wachau. It became famous as the imprisonment site of King Richard the Lionheart, who was held captive here in 1192/93 by Duke Leopold V. The climb is rewarded with a spectacular panoramic view over the Danube Valley.
